ABOUT US

Dedicated with Love & Sincerity

In Loving Memory

This Online Quran Tilawat is lovingly dedicated to the memory of Putli Begum — a grandmother whose faith in Allah was unwavering, whose love for the Holy Quran knew no bounds, and whose prayers continue to bless this family and all who benefit from this work.

She was a woman of simplicity, devotion, and deep piety. Her days began and ended with the recitation of the Quran. She taught her children and grandchildren to love the Book of Allah, to respect its teachings, and to live by its guidance. Even in her later years, despite failing eyesight, her lips never stopped moving with the words of the Quran — a testament to a lifetime of memorization and love for the word of Allah.

May Allah Ta'ala grant her the highest rank in Jannatul Firdaus, make her grave a garden from the gardens of Paradise, and accept this small effort as Izalai Sawab (continuous charity) on her behalf. May the reward of every ayah read through this app reach her soul, illuminating her grave with the light of the Quran she so deeply cherished.

إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

"Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." (Al-Baqarah 2:156)

Online Quran Tilawat is a free, comprehensive digital platform dedicated to making the Holy Quran accessible to Muslims worldwide, with a special focus on the South Asian Muslim community. Our platform faithfully reproduces the traditional Indo-Pak 15-line Nastaleeq script — the same script used in mosques, madrasas, and homes across Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and the global South Asian diaspora. Every page is carefully rendered in the authentic Saleem font, preserving the calligraphic beauty that millions have grown up reading.

We feature the renowned English translation by Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, one of the most respected Islamic scholars of our time. Whether you are a Hafiz revising memorization, a student learning Tajweed, a commuter wanting to listen during your daily drive, or someone simply looking to understand the Quran better — this app is built for you.

The Importance of Reading the Holy Quran in Indo-Pak Nastaleeq Script

The Holy Quran is the final revelation from Allah Almighty, sent to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the angel Jibreel over a period of 23 years. For over 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide, the Quran is not merely a book — it is the ultimate source of guidance, law, spirituality, and wisdom. Reading the Quran is an act of worship, and every letter recited carries immense reward. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah will have a reward, and that reward will be multiplied by ten."

In South Asia — encompassing Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and parts of Afghanistan — the Indo-Pak Nastaleeq script has been the dominant script for Quran printing and education for over a century. Unlike the Naskh script commonly used in the Arab world, Nastaleeq features beautifully elongated, flowing letterforms with distinctive horizontal and vertical strokes that give it an almost painterly quality. This script evolved from the Persian calligraphic tradition and was adapted for Quran publication in the Indian subcontinent during the Mughal era. Today, it remains the script that millions of South Asian Muslims first learn to read the Quran in, whether at home, in local mosques, or in the thousands of madrasas across the region.

The 15-line Quran layout is the most ubiquitous format in South Asia. This standardized format arranges the Quranic text across exactly 15 lines per page, typically spanning 604 pages in a standard printed copy. This layout was popularized by major publishers in Lahore, Karachi, and Delhi, and has become so deeply ingrained in South Asian Muslim culture that Huffaz (those who have memorized the entire Quran) can often identify the exact page and line position of any ayah from memory. The 15-line format is particularly significant because it aligns with the teaching methodology used in Deobandi madrasas, where students memorize the Quran page by page in this specific layout.

Tajweed — the science of Quranic recitation — is an essential discipline for anyone who reads the Quran. The word "Tajweed" comes from the Arabic root "j-w-d", meaning to make better or to improve. Tajweed rules govern how each letter of the Quran should be pronounced, including the correct articulation points (Makharij), the characteristics of letters (Sifaat), and the rules governing nasal sounds, prolongation, and letter merging. The color-coded Tajweed system in our app highlights eight essential rules: Izhar (clear pronunciation), Ikhfa (hidden pronunciation), Iqlab (conversion), Idghaam (merging), Ghunnah (nasal sound), Qalqalah (echoing sound), Madd (prolongation), and Meem Sakinah rules. By studying these color-coded rules, students can dramatically improve their recitation accuracy and beauty.

The English translation by Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani is one of the most respected modern English translations of the Holy Quran. Mufti Taqi Usmani is a distinguished Islamic scholar born in Deoband, India, and currently based in Karachi, Pakistan. He is a leading authority of the Deobandi school of thought, a former judge of the Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan, and vice-president of Darul Uloom Karachi. His translation is celebrated for its scholarly rigor, precise theological terminology, and faithfulness to the classical Arabic commentaries. The inclusion of Roman Urdu transliteration alongside the English translation makes this resource invaluable for the South Asian diaspora, particularly in countries like the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, and the Gulf states.

Audio recitation of the Quran has become an increasingly important part of daily life for Muslims around the world. The benefits of listening to Quran recitation are well-documented in both Islamic tradition and modern research. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The one who recites the Quran and the one who listens to it have an equal share in the reward." Our platform offers audio from 9 world-renowned reciters, each with a unique style: from the powerful, resonant recitation of Shaykh Abdul Basit to the melodic beauty of Shaykh Mishary Alafasy, and the measured precision of Shaykh Mahmood Khalil Al-Husary. The Driving Mode feature allows Muslims to transform their daily commutes into sessions of spiritual enrichment.

The collection of daily Quranic duas in our app is drawn exclusively from the most authentic sources in Islam: Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and Jami at-Tirmidhi. Each dua in our collection includes the Arabic text for authenticity, an English translation for understanding, and Roman Urdu transliteration for accessibility — ensuring that South Asian Muslims of all ages and literacy levels can benefit from these powerful supplications.

Online Quran Tilawat brings all these features together in a single, beautifully designed platform that honors the rich Islamic scholarship and cultural traditions of South Asia while leveraging modern web technology to make the Quran more accessible than ever. Whether you are a seasoned scholar or a beginning reader, our app provides the tools you need to read, understand, recite, and live by the Holy Quran. We invite you to begin your journey today — open any surah, explore the color-coded Tajweed, listen to your favorite reciter, and immerse yourself in the timeless words of Allah Almighty.
